The 50x15 Initiative aims to lessen the
Digital Divide. By hooking
up 50% of the world's population into the internet by 2015, the world
will be connected and enlightened with education, a sense of community,
and education. Malnutrition can be fought better, as well as the
fight against AIDS and neglect.
Education is one of the strongest forces in the world, and technology has a huge impact on education. Up till now, the focus of technology is creating things that are more powerful, faster, and efficient. Now, though, new technology isn't the answer, it's getting that technology to more people. AMD has set a far-reaching goal which is to get 50 percent of the world's population easy and cheap access to the Internet by the year 2015. A new approach must be used, with economic incentives and reinvestment that is good business as well as goodwill.
